It is much cheaper to provide people with 21st Century accommodation and 21st century standards of living in cities than in the country and China's urbanisation plans are, IMO, are the way to go. further migration to the cities will Give China an opportunity to rationalise its food production through mechanisation and
larger land holdings.
just imagine the costs of providing piped water, sewerage , electricity and roads
to everyone in rural China within the foreseeable future. As the addage goes: its easier to move Moses to the mountain than move the mountain to Moses.
Currently China has about 7.5% GDP growth, 2.5% CPI and almost $4 trillion
foreign reserves.
Just imagine if the USA had 5% GDP growth, 2% CPI & a lazy $4 trillion in foreign reserves? Just imagine the hubris !
It seems that Uncle Sam and his agencies have decided to attack China via
the a US sympathetic news media who believe that an Uncle Sam market economy is the only sustainable economic system. China has managed much better than the USA or Europe post the GFC and for the above reasons, it will likely continue to succeed better than either the USA or Europe.
I'm keenly aware that there is an ideological/ economic /currency war happening
between the USA and China and right wing Capitalists are dreaming about the
demise of China. At this stage , IMO, it seems like wishful thinking and a smokescreen to shield the US predicament from public scrutiny.
The US is spending almost a $trillion a year more than it is earning and has
a bill of $17 trillion debt accumulating interest. If Uncle Sam were to be a corporation he would be, like Detroit, bankrupt.
