However, if a God does exist, and further, if there is a Heaven and Hell awaiting you for an eternal afterlife, and you have not been praying and living life as a good Christian... the prospect of Hell, fire and brimstone and vultures pecking at your intestines for all eternity does seem to be imply a reasonable risk/reward ratio to justify for an occasional prayer and living a good Christian life according to the 10 commandments...

    benbradley,

I doubt that all Christians would agree with you.

    Consider Revelation 3:14 onwards

“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation. “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

This sort of approach that has one following a Christian life as a kind of insurance policy seems to have no heart in it and so smacks of being neither "cold nor hot".

I would like to know what Christians think.
