OK, let's assume for a moment that the items picked up by the satellites proves to be from MH370, and the search teams are able to track them down.

Makes for some interesting considerations as to what happens next.

HMAS Success has just entered the search area, and, presumably, it is the vessel best equipped to pick up the pieces. No doubt, whatever is found will be brought back to HMAS Stirling in WA.

Who then takes control of the parts recovered? One would presume it's Malaysia, as it's their aircraft. Would the Malaysians be trusted to competently handle the subsequent investigation? (especially with the very cranky Chinese). Would the US take the parts, as the NTSB is hugely experienced in these matters, and the aircraft is of American origin. Maybe they stay in Oz, as some sort of 'Neurtal territory' that can be trusted.

Noticed that the Chinese have brought into Perth (at least) one IL-76 cargo aircraft. Are they wanting to take the parts back to China?? (An IL-76 is NOT the most appropriate aircraft to handle the search phase of the operation). Maybe bringing a Chinese aircraft....ANY Chinese aircraft, is more about showing the flag to the Chinese people that their government is doing something...given that they have suffered more casualties than anyone else through this tragedy.
