As much as some people wish they would, cyclists aren't going away, so we both sides need to compromise and be aware of each other, that INCLUDES cyclists.
Things that annoy me about cyclists :
1. I take my dog to an off leash dog park/beach each day that has a SHARED pathway going through it and the cyclists treat it like a veledrome, no concern for pedestrians or the dogs. I've seen too many near misses to count, i've also seen two dogs hit by cyclists. If cyclists want people to respect them, they need to start showing some respect to others.
2. Cyclists in bike lanes who ride on or as close to the dividing line as possible. I get they don't want to be over in the gutter and risking punctures, but riding right on the line is dangerous and the middle of the bike lane is pretty much clear of any potential punctures.
3. cyclists who block roads. Single file should be law.
4. And possibly the most important point, cyclists don't have CTP insurance and if they hit and kill or maim someone they'll just declare bankruptcy and move on(if they hang around to be identified of course). That is not right and it needs to be rectified by compulsory registration.
Having said all that, having been a motorcyclist in the past, I am very wary of the presence of cyclists and do my best to avoid and accidents - so far so good in that regard.
