gurubob: where is the best place to retire in aust

Just adding my six pence worth and having left Ferntre Gully 16 mnths ago and never looked back but Coffs harbour area is a great spot. We've been coming to Coffs on holidays for the last 25 years and always said we'd retire here, and we have, well actually 18 klms north of Coffs, Emerald beach. The only advise I'd give you so that you don't blame any one is to look for yourself. Just a trival piece of info and I received this info second hand is that the number one man for Microsoft Australia carried out a survey of the Eastern coast of australia looking for the best average temp, beaches, transport etc and Coffs Harbour ended up his choice. His house over looks the Pacific ocean from the top of a hill. Good luck, what part of Melbourne are you from ????
