I browed the original article when it was 1st posted

my impression is the immigrants are often misperceiving the current batch of Australian locals

Australians are for the most part friendly & non-racist. generally, the racism of Australians is extremely superficial, i.e., they 1st call you a 'wog' or 'gook' and 2nd invite you for a beer & a BBQ or a holiday up the coast

but Australians, despite their efforts, often centred on beer drinking, generally do not have the welcoming social warmth of most nationalities that are more embracing

so the immigrants may misperceive the cold Anglo disposition of Australians as unfriendly but, deep down inside, Aussies are very good in my book

Australia is a great nation - of excellent social peace & harmony
