No Bruceghana.
We have already been there. In order to get a contracts base for Jab1 to satisfy ExIm we have already dangled the carrot and accepted contracts at a heavy reduction. The % reduction has been made known before but I can't remember exactly [30%?] and of course there was that "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" deal with Measat to add millions to our Jab1 payload but hopefully those days are over.
The only incentives needed to induce customers to get on board now should be:-
[i] This IS going to happen
[ii] wait too long and run the risk of missing out
[iii] If there is high demand the price could even increase closer to launch so lock in now
[iv] get on board with an Aussie Company that even the US DoD trust completely
[v] state of the art HUGE satellite with latest technologies, spot beams, etc.
We should not need to go out now and plead for contracts any more. Sit back, work on the $600 mill pipeline to get them to sign on the dotted line and start to fill capacity. Once capacity starts to fill others will be forced to act or miss out.
No hurry as it is still 20 months away but it will start to run and then snowball later this year IMO as people start to realise they had better lock in their forward requirements.
We are going to go through a lot more rough patches before we see the blue skies because we still have a credibility problem but it is slowly happening.
