"Don't spend more than you can afford to lose on speculative stocks. You don't want to end up like those poor chaps on the PBT thread."

Good advice. As I suspect you know, I am one of those poor chaps. I am pleased that you have kept your words gentle as we have had some shocking trolls on the PBT forum, gleefully suggesting that PBT investors should cut their wrists! I swear to God, there are people like that on HC!

Its true that biotechs are risky, as is mining exploration. But in both cases, the risks can be calculated to a certain degree and the more research and information that one gathers the better one can make the necessary risk/benefit analysis. I did a huge amount of research on Prana and still got it wrong (so far anyway), but it was a very reasonable bet given what was known and the possible returns.

Same with AVB. I am investing time and effort as well as money. And, as with Prana, there are no guarantees. But the risks are also far lower (the geology of a copper resource is a bit easier to understand than the neurology of amyloid toxicity).

With Avanco, as with Prana, I dont want to come onto HC just to read that speccies are risky, and only invest what you can afford to lose. I know that already. I want to exchange views on how risky and why; what is being done to mitigate that risk; how the prospects of success are affected by internal strategies / external factors; and what success might actually look like, and when.

When I get that I am happy, even if the conclusions being drawn are negative (I have pulled out of at least one stock based on convincing arguments posted on HC). As I have said before, I welcome your scepticism on this forum as contributing healthy balance. But I really wish you would provide more substance to the negative case (yes, I was a high school debater). The mere assertion that AVB will eventually fail does not gain weight through repetion.

At the moment I am in the queue to buy more as the case for AVB is so much stronger than the case against - and seems to be gaining strength. Dont just tell me you disagree. Do me the invaluable service of giving me REASONS and make them convincing!
