In reality, it is this moronic blind nationalism which is dividing Australia. Who wants a bogan living next door with the Aussie flag emblazoned on their chest and the flag flying from their verandah? That kind of national pride is as disposable as the made-in-China merchandise that goes with it. Would one of these fools even have a clue who our Father of Federation was?
I'd much prefer my neighbours to be open-minded independent thinkers who respect themselves and other cultures. Neighbours who do not suffer from such feelings of inferiority and irrelevance that they pine for symbols of false pride and empowerment.
