tpcs, the long study time was a requirement in testing the purities and applicable uses for the Japanese.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the time and processes involved and they would have put CNQ products through very rigorous and stringent quality control testing procedures. The tests not only confirm the purities and consistency, but are often done for customers, whereby the tests are based on models of how the customer will use the product and in what capacity. By doing this, Japanese buyers confirm their customer market with agreed products at a level tested far beyond what most western companies would do. Win- win for everyone, but takes time. You also need to remember most Japanese people don't invest in mining stocks like us Aussies, and as a consequence most Japanese don't give two hoots about what shareholders like us think of them. They only see the tungsten and if it takes a year or 10, it is of no consequence. But they will get it!

The positive (as expected) was the approval. That is a major tick for payment to be earmarked. Things will begin to happen now at a faster pace.

As I have stated...many times, understand Japanese business methods and you will know CNQ are doing everything by the book and will reap the benefit.
