It is interesting how things work out. I saw a sign on the outskirts of a local town that was advertising sinkers for sale at a house for $4/kg.
So I stopped and bought some sinkers and had a chat to the man. It turns out that he is a prospector, and he and a partner own an estimated 200,000 ounce Gold mine in the Tanami desert, but is just "too bloody hot and isolated" for them to dig it out! I told him that I had some shares in a company called ABU which had a mine in the Tanami, and he said that they did too! He added that he's been to the mine and that he had drilling friends who worked there! I couldn't believe what a small world it is!
Having visited him several times now and met his drilling friends, I try to gain as much knowledge out of them as I can. They claim to have had drinks with DH at an Alice Springs pub and they were impressed with his visions for the mine.
They all hold ABU and CTP shares, and their confidence has boosted my confidence in the company. On their visits to ABU's mine they have seen the visible Gold in the ground and in the stock piles of rocks to be crushed.
Their confidence in ABU is sky high. But of course it is the Market that determines the sp. ABU and Gold are not currently in favour, but when that turns around, then ABU should have a significant rise in its sp!
I'll repeat their observations,
1. "ABU is sitting on a huge pile of course Gold, that is easy and cheap to mine!"
2. "Our belief is that there is still much more Gold to be found there."
3. "CTP is sitting on massive oil and gas deposits near the NT border, which one day will be brought to the surface!" (oil is flowing from one bore already)
IMHO opinion, long term, ABU and CTP should become successful companies and shareholders will make significant profits!
