I differ to your opinion that comparable companies base their MDs in the South American countries like Chile and Peru. Shareholder base is in Australia and so are the brokers. Name a company where an Aussie MD is based there.

ICG, CDB, RMG, just a couple off hand exploring there but based in Australia with their board.

The few I know open an office there and is run by a manager under the MD. Very cheap.
