Timbo, HFT is likely less prevalent where you do most of your fishing. I'm not saying that devalues your opinion, but there is not as much of it among the specs because the liquidity is not there to make it worth the Flash Boys' time. It's a much bigger issue for those who work the mid-caps and upwards.
The playing field has never been even but now and then it tilts too far in favour of one set of market participants and there is a counter-reaction. Time to dig out our pitch-forks and flaming torches and form an angry mob.
