Can you tell me how, someone who dosent exist, yet, you post predominately on hc about this being that dosent exist?

I can't speak for igilug, I can only speak for myself.

I'm not a religious person. This does not stop me admiring some religious people. An example of such a person is Bishop Desmond Tutu. He spoke out against discrimination during the apartheid era, and now he speaks out against discrimination of the ruling classes in the post apartheid era. He speaks out against homophobia, in spite of what the Old Testament says about the subject. He preaches forgiveness in spite of the treatment that he and his people received during the apartheid era.

I also appreciate many of the principles of Christianity. Love your neighbour, when some asks you to walk a mile with them, walk two miles and so on. I appreciate the celebration of Easter as a new beginning, a fresh start etc.

I also feel the need to speak out against aspects and some interpretations of scripture. I feel the need to speak out about the rule driven interpretation of religion that has little warmth, and seems to be all about control. I feel the need to speak out against what to me is an expectation to suspend reason. For example the need to believe that all was created in 6 days and the literal interpretation of the Flood and of the Exodus from Egypt. I feel that some verses are just embarrassing - like those that call for stoning and for the killing of enemies.

Why do I feel the need to speak out. That's just me I guess.
