Ita is now centred over Palm Is, north of Townsville.
The rain looks to be clearing Cairns with Townsville now copping the brunt of it. It looks as it it will pass a little out to sea and we will have a wet, windy day but no big deal. The local weather station says 50 kph winds and I doubt it will go past 100, but there will still be power-outages. This is a troublesome mix of trees and overhead power cables we have here.
