From a yoga perspective, purity is often something neural, namely, the purification of the chakras, based in samadhi, ie, mental quietude

Whereas from a Buddhist perspective, purity is a state of mind of non-craving & non-attachment, which occurs from insight

Although the substrata may not be completely purified from all sankhara, the mind is liberated & thus transcendent via non-clinging

The liberation of mind via non-clinging is the meaning of Buddhist nirvana

This is why in Buddhism there are 4 levels of saintliness, with only the highest level completely purified

The noble Buddhist path encourages abandonmment from the outset so the selfless state can be perceived from the outset (despite the sankharas not being totally purified)

However, from a samadhi point of views, the sankharas in the physical body (aka lower chakras in yoga) must be dissolved for the Rapture of samadhi to fully manifest

And then rapture must purify & dissolve for higher purity

    Ok... Better find some electricity

    Regards
