Flinders - If I understood you correctly I'm surprised you had an SMSF with only $23k in it? That should have been an early warning to whoever advised you start an SMSF. I don't think SMSF's work at this low capital base due to admin costs. I've warned people off starting SMSF's who have under about $300K (better stay in an industry fund), especially you don't understand how SMSF's operate. Under $100K the argument for them is really stretched under the current super rules. At $23K I'm surprised whoever started you off didn't warn you?
