Hi Fat Bloater, Our western style of Capitalism moderated by a social welfare system is a cradle to grave system and it is absurd to target older people just because you dont want to pay your fair share of tax.
Children cost the state a fortune ( and I presume you were a child once) and most parents simply can,t afford the real cost of bringing up and educating children but the State has deemed it necessary to provide universal child welfare from Baby bonus ,pre and anti natall health services, child creche services, kindy and prep, primary and secondary education, child allowance and subsidised health and dental services services. As taxpayers or retirees we have all had some free access to these services and as taxpayers we simply have to pay.
Similarily, we have to pay tax for our retirement and Super is just another tax concession. Self funded super retirees owe their nestegg mostly to tax concessions which is a form of welfare. Ask the tax office. So why crib over a few recalcitrants who will always try to rort the system. Non of my family, friends or acquaintences are rorting the system so it doesn't worry me.
