if the heavitree was air drilled throughout, i do not and did not dispute your scenario. it could be done that way. however the statement drilling into does not say drilling throughout. however notwithstanding how much of the logging program was completed, in my experience you must have mudded up the hole to run the tools and have them work as designed. the question remains as to when this happened. if you have mud in the hole (or simply brine which would be likely given the presumably uncased salt above) while drilling and an inflatable packer on the string above the bit, i do not see why a bottom hole dst is such a time consuming exercise. grateful for any further comments.
