Happens in all sides of politics. The problem here is that evidence is given under oath and if its wrong it could have huge consequences to the person involved. I can never understand why politicians and public figures are that complacent as to accept undeclared gifts. There are numerous examples where this type of thing has ruined the individual concerned.
They are in positions of privilege and are well paid. How they allow themselves to get into this situation is amazing.
In public office never accept any gift from anyone or at the very least if accepted declare it and donate it to the State or some charitable institution. particularly never accept from people about whom you will be making decisions that may benefit their business interests.
