I think it's got to a point where many people are playing the BESB game. Buy early, sell before spud. That was a great stategy initially because it was a contrarian strategy. It was something only a few brave, clever souls would play when it took advantage of the general market getting wind of the drill late, jumping on and giving the price a very healthy rise and the clever ones would hop off having let those late to the party do all their work.
Nowadays it is such a well known strategy that it has rendered itself ineffective due to so many people trying to do the same thing. When everyone gets disenchanted with no rise many continue on with their initial strategy and jump off, taking a loss and bemoaning the failure of what had seemed like a sure thing.
In this game, if you're doing what everyone else is doing it's pretty certain that you will end up with the same result as the majority. A loss. And the smart ones will have worked out a new strategy to continue to take their substantial profits from the masses.
We'll have to coin a new term for the emerging trend. Maybe, Shake the tree late, pick up the cheap shares, generate some interest during drilling and hop off before TD. Needs a bit of work to fit in to an easy acronym but I suspect that is what is happening these days.
Hang on tight because the tree is going to cop a real walloping to try and prise some more shares loose.

That's what I reckon anyway. I may well be wrong.
