Just wanted to point out that the story in today's paper had three reputable journos working on it (Amanda Saunders, Peter Ker and Ben Butler - not exactly lightweights) and it would have been forensically scrutinised by the chief editor(s) and the legals before publication. You can't afford to get a story like this wrong. I think the story is highly likely to be true. If it is true, this should be a watershed incident to force tighter controls over the way announcements around funding are released to the market. A minnow miner 'securing' $6.5 BILLION DOLLARS (but can't disclose the source???) should have set alarm bells ringing at the asx and asic. Those 'in-the-know' who accumulated over the last few months then sold the lot on the 'Funding Secured' announcement should be prosecuted. It's a disgrace! But what an elaborate scam to suck in not only management but all those major Korean EPCs and potential investors along the way. Very 'sophisticated' indeed and very very damaging to Australia's business reputation.
