My comparison between the 2 is between the GFC and now.
In that time if you add the dividends and shareprice appreciation for both you will find the investment in WES way better than WOW.
So in other ways if you spent $100k on each immediately post GFC and combined each companies dividend plus franking plus share price appreciation WES would come out way on top in both areas. We invest to maximize our returns within a given time.
One needs to be careful not to over analyse things.
Diversification is the name of the game.
