The reason our mind operates the way it does is via our 6 senses, I have included the sixth as it is a creative and intuition channel. Our senses are objects of the mind, therefore our mind requires a complete trust on the unity of the senses otherwise the mind could not operate at all.

whilst not really related to the topic, the mind can operate where the senses lose unity

there is a peaceful anchor in the storm (arising & destruction) of the senses when the mind has a complete trust in acceptance of the illusoriness of the senses
