But, since then, everything I've read indicates that this is all smoke and mirrors and I stand to lose at least 90% of my investment.

Of course I'd love to be wrong and for the funding to be actually true. That would be fantastic. But I'm a big boy now and stopped deluding myself that fairy tales do come true. And that's what this funding deal is - a fairy tale.
