Belgium to Stock Bird Flu Medication

By the end of the year, Belgium will stock enough medication, to be used in the treatment of apossible bird flu endemic in the country, to meet the needs of three million people, around 30 percent of the country’s population.

The recently formed inter-ministry bird flu commission released a statement earlier on Thursday confirming the decision. The medication, Tamiflu and Relenza (nasal spray), reduce the risk of death when used in the early treatment of the disease.
