I heard on ABC radio this evening that Joe Hockey had a stern word with Glenn Stevens about interest rates and the language in the RBA's announcements recently. The RBA has stopped jawboning or talking down the Australian dollar in recent meeting minutes and public speeches after spending a good period of last year doing exactly that.

The suggestion is that Joe Hockey was questioning Glenn why the RBA had stopped jawboning the dollar which was having the effect of lifting the exchange rate from roughly 88c to 94c. Will find the link and post it here if I find it.
