    jt1,

"information given to ASX under Listing Rule 3.1 is quickly reviewed and then released by ASX to the market"
"where ASX receives an announcement under Listing Rule 3.1 from a listed entity which it considers is likely to be market sensitive, it will halt trading in the entity's securities under ASX Operating Rule 3301(a)."
"when an announcement is received by the AMA, it is quickly reviewed on-screen by specialist staff to determine..."
"... if as part of its review the AMA does happen to identify concerns about the contents of an announcement, the AMA may defer the release of the announcement and refer those concerns to the Listings adviser assigned to the relevant entity. If the Listings adviser shares those concerns, he or she will contact the entity to discuss how those concerns might be addressed. In some cases, this may lead to ASX requesting that the announcement is amended or withdrawn prior to its release."

So to answer your questions further:
"Do you honestly believe PDY rang their ASX designate prior to this release?"

No, but I believe the ASX designate should have rang the company officer prior to the market release of the announcement as per the protocol outlined above.

"Do you believe a police car should be stationed at every drinking establishment in Australia to breath test every punter that drives past?"

No, but I believe a police officer should stop any driver that is tested and found to be non-compliant with the rules.

The announcement was vetted by "specialist staff" and passed the ASX initial screen... any moron with more than half a brain cell would've had alarm bells ringing with the contents of that announcement and requested an immediate halt as per the process outlined above. It's like a police officer pulling over a drunk bus driver, testing that drunk, finding he is 100x over the limit, saying you're okay to go through, and then witnessing that drunk veer off track and crash into an oncoming bus! What do you think is going to happen next? Do you really think noone is going to question the police officer?

    Keep dreaming
