Checked with real estate agent and personal cheque is ok.

Had another look at the property and it is really, really bad. It is a weather board house and has not been painted in years, no maintenance at all. One of the bathrooms is like from a horror movie. The paint on the decking outside has completely peeled away with rain water and the wood is rotting away. Auction is this Saturday. Don't have time for a property and pest inspection but wouldn't want to fork out a few hundred $ for one anyway. Think the cost of renovating it would be around 50-100k. Would rather move and buy a new house somewhere else. It would be a renovator's wet dream but I think I would just be taken to the cleaners by tradies.
