Clearly they have been made aware of something major in the pipeline - confidential commercial discussions for a new Teva-like partnership...another Big Pharma coming in to run and pay for Phase 3 disc repair and take it into commercialisation? Or have they have come on board to re-vitalise a stagnant, indecisive strategy in order to win over cautious/risk averse corporate partners?

But yeah, something is afoot, just these long lead times and long silences from the company are testing.

Vinn likes to state that in 10 years, there hasn't been ONE negative announcement from the company. Now technically, that might be true. But what has become crystal clear is that there has been some glaring & confounding news blackouts if you want to call them that:

As I said before, its like the BMT Phase 3 trial disappeared into an alternate reality...a black hole... no news or clarification for years and then out of nowhere...BOOM!...the company acquires Prochymal from Osiris.

Mesoblast released a corporate strategy for neurologic conditions in mid 2012 - Huntingtons, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury and Parkinson's. Again, no continuity in newsflow re these initial announcements over the last 2 years.

The investor presentation teasingly mentioned an expediated passage to product commercialisation for Huntington's disease utilising Mesoblast's DPSC technology. The company has been Shtum on this for 2 years and counting.Grrrr!

Finally, the Wet AMD trial that was started in Singapore in 2011.Same thing - no news if the trial was encouraging or if Phase 2/3 is the next move.

In my opinion, these are worrying acts of omission which essentially are NEGATIVE announcements. Sorry Vinn.

I want this company to be great and massive...to be like Genentech as Silviu has often hinted at..but its still got a long way to go. As for improving communication with the market and shareholders, it could model itself on Sirtex's investor relations model.
