I remember some years ago, a couple of times getting an injection of a mixture of local anesthetic and steroid into the back...

The doctor did some sort of pain test to locate the area with most pain to do the injection

The local anesthetic gave instant relief for the back pain and the steroid reduced the local inflammation to give pain relief for several months...

It worked a charm at the time....

I crawled into his office in pain and danced out pain free for the next few months...
