Another scenario is one dry well. If there is nothing to see in the first well why would the people paying the costs want to drill the second? They walk and FAR is left with 100% of the block and no second well.
On this point, a number of posters have talked about a combined POS of the two wells being close to 50%. I am not sure that this is correct because combining each POS on the two individual wells assumes that they are not correlated. However, the wells are correlated because if there is, for example, no source kitchen producing oil or the regional "trap" is porous, then there will be no oil in the second drill's target area. So why bother drilling the second hole?
I hope I am wrong on the above, all pure speculation, and lots of black liquid stuff is found.
