I get a sense of satisfaction from random acts of kindness.
One not so long ago was seeing a young lady at a service station that having put petrol in her car was at the cashier distress as she didn't have the money in her purse she thought she had and the cashier demanded she not move her car until she had paid.
From what I over heard she had no one that she could call for immediate assistance and I could see she was teary and distressed.
I approached her and offered her the money together with my business card so she could pay me back, she was reluctant to accept and I just said I could not bear to see her distressed and was trusting she would pay me back.
Relived and grateful she accepted, got a text from her latter that day to that effect and a couple of days latter received the money in the post with a lovely note.
With that in mind if you have ever lent some one $20 and never saw them again it was probably worth the $20
