my uncle just had his 90th bday party , there was a bloke there who nobody knew until they asked about him, then we got his story. he was driving passed uncle jonnys farm & ran over a cat , killed the cat , felt terrible so drove into the driveway and found jonny , asked him if it was his cat, he said yes it was, so this bloke was gutted and felt terrible. jonny told him to come inside and offered the stranger a cup of tea and freshly picked corn and beans , the bloke couldnt believe it , uncle just told him , you must be a decent person to feel bad , so forget about it, accidents happen & please take some corn and beans , ive got too much for myself so take it to show theres no hard feelings. also gave him a couple of watermelons. this bloke told the story in a speech at the party , was a cracker , but no big deal at the same time , bush folk look after one another.
