    There are two critical issues here as I understand it;

    1. Safety - a non-toxic formulation, not yet achieved, but I suspect one will be found.

    2. Targeting tumours - I don't understand how one would get the nanoparticles to identify the target tumours. We need to bear in mind that while many melanoma tumours are on the surface, much cancer is far less accessible. Also, many cancer cells are very tiny to begin with, and these are the real bastards that can emerge later, when you find the cancer has come back. I've been very impressed by the potential of virotherapy, because of its capacity to seek out cancerous cells, including miniscule ones. So how would the nanoparticles know what to attack as they course through the bloodstream, finding their way through all the tiny capillaries to get to the diseased cells?

    I'd be pretty sure that administration by injection would be the method.

    But don't ask me for medical advice - my know-how stops at the common cold.
