I come from a poor socio-economic environment where people ,including my parents and siblings have a chip on their shoulder and expect handouts for anything and everything and they think the rich are evil.I have worked shitty low paid jobs, paid off a modest home, have put aside money for retirement, manage to take a decent holiday once a year in recent times and have some interesting hobbies. I have also started a uni degree, part time , at age 47, and am paying for this out of my own pocket. I have NEVER :
1. Claimed the dole or any other benefit. 2. Received a first home buyers grant. 3. Receieved the baby bonus 4. Recieved any other kind of welfare expected by lower or middle classes.
My intention is to get my degree and be self employed and be able to keep working into my later years and also fund my retirement the best I can.
It makes me sick to the stomach to see what has happened in this country in the last 30 odd years. Handouts, handouts, handouts. People living beyond their means and expecting the government, ie taxpayer to pay the bill.
Stop giving money to people who think the world owes them a living, and then taking money from the rich and responsible people to pick up the tab.
Sick of the all the excusses like :
my missus needs to work so that we can pay the mortgage, so therefore the government needs to increase childcare rebates. Really? Do you really need to borrow $400 K to buy a house with a two car garage, 6 bedrooms, a study,etc, . Do you really need the boat, the caravan, two new cars, three televisions in your house. Do you really need the 2 slabs of VB you drink every week.
This country needs a dose of reality. If you are born into wealth or have worked had to become wealthy and can afford nice things in life, well good luck to you.
If you are too lazy, born into the wrong socio-economic group, want to live beyond your means or have delusions of granduer, well bad bloody luck. If you have to live in a 3 bedroom house, drive one car, forgo life's luxuries, work two jobs for awhile, sacrifice and save until you can afford things, well too bad.
You should only get out of this life what you put in, if you want things in life don't expect them for free. Get of your arse and earn them.
The true Aussie spirit is almost gone, we have raised a bunch of lazy arsed, welfare dependant, I want it all and want it now people. Stop the handouts, stop taxing the rich and responsible.
And while we are at it Mr Abbott and Mr Hockey, if we all have to share the burden, I would like my fisrt home buyer's grant, baby bonus and any other benefit that has been handed out to the soft underbelly of this country.
The Robin Hood Tax, take from the rich to pay for the wlefare handed out to the poor and the poor me, it's not fair class. Absolutely disgraceful!
