The manner in which Julia Gillard became PM distressed me as much as it did most Australians and remains a lens through which I view her contribution to Australian politics.
The Rudd-Gillard years will be remembered for the internal blood-letting and power struggles within the ALP but they will also be remembered for the fact that Australia dodged the GFC bullet and continued to grow despite it.
It's a gross exaggeration of reality to pretend that Australia's economy was in a mess and a basket-case by September 2013. By September 2013 all major global ratings agencies had assessed our economy as AAA for the first time in our history.
The major architect of the trash Australia perspective is of course our PM. Having trashed Gillard as a liar, and inept and possibly even corrupt; HE must now be subjected to the same blowtorch HE applied to her.
