"unwinding of welfare for the wealthy including massively subsidised 'private schools' and that obscene diesel fuel rebate for multinational mining companies for example"
Now in the interests of fairness, as long as the funding into a private school is roughly the same as the funding provided to a public school, where is the welfare to the wealthy as you put it?
Plenty of people on very average wages put their kids into a private school. They are all taxpayers too.
As for the 'obscene' diesel rebate, you do know don't you? that those companies, farmers and fishermen never paid the tax originally, because it was for off-road use.
Now they do have to pay it, and claim it back, and you and your ilk now call it a subsidy, when it's clearly not.
