"I live next to a fellow on a DSP who over the space of 3 years personally built a huge house - I mean personally! He's on a DSP.

The house will soon be on the market for over $2Million.

Will I be using the dob-in line?

    You can count on it.

Do I support a review of the DSP? This guy has muscles on muscles - he is huge! And he doesn't have to work thanks to you and me.

    Criminal...."

frasier, it's quite possible his DSP is on the basis of some nebulous "mental illness".

One of the side effects of everybody talking about their depression, bipolar disorder and god knows what else, is that more of the general population will decide that such a disorder is a hard to disprove way to a comfy DSP.

If someone rocks up to the doctor and claims they are overwhelmed by paralysing depression, have pronounced suicidal ideation, etc etc., how is the doctor going to determine that this is not in fact the case?
No blood test or other proof.

I don't actually know, but I wouldn't mind betting that much of the inflation of the DSP numbers will be on the basis of claims of mental illness.

Btw, the above comments should not be seen as any sort of criticism of people with genuine mental illness.
