I'm talking about people who tick the box but hold only a vague interest or faith. There are many elderly people who fit into this category. They were raised going to church, as many did back then but have long since departed from any involvement with the church. Anyway, no doubt you're right that some of that 61% wouldn't mind seeing it taught.
Another interesting question. Of those who are actually the decision makers for kids, i.e. the 21-40 demographic, what percentage of these would want to see religious Ed in schools? I think it would be significant lower than the overall population.
