if your kids came home and "came out" as Christians, would you think you failed as a parent, ur would you be glad that they didn't turn out to be like most kids today.

I have two children.
One is a devout Christian and the other is decidedly anti-religion.
They have both chosen roles in life which involve "caring for and loving their neighbours". They could have both chosen roles that would have been more financially rewarding, but find their current roles very fulfilling.
They don't agree with each other's religious positions but their love for each other I'm very happy to say is above this.
I sincerely hope that we have taught our children to think for themselves and believe that they are both very capable of doing that (from a early age:) )
I don't think that we have failed either as a parent, and believe that they are equally extremely valuable.
