if your kids came home and "came out" as Christians, would you think you failed as a parent, ur would you be glad that they didn't turn out to be like most kids today.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'most kids' as I see plenty of good kids out there, along with some rotten apples.
But to answer your question, I'd be a little disappointed that they weren't more philosophical/logical than that but at the same time, I'd never try and dissuade them from something if it made them happy, whole etc
Can I ask you something similar. Would you support and encourage your children if they came out as gay or a supporter of the Islam faith?
