If you study a bit of history TM, you'll understand that science pandered to religion for a very, very long time. So much so that the theories many intelligent mathematicians and physicists arrived at had to be corrupted into something that fit the absurdities of scripture. Hence, the geocentric view of the world prevailed far longer than it should have.
Nonetheless, science has evolved over time, as knowledge and technology has permitted and that has meant change.
It doesn't take a genius to work out that a disinterested pursuit for knowledge that is capable of change, in-line with discovery, is a strength - not weakness.
