any system will have exceptions due to unlikely events. doesn't mean your system was flawed. I assume you still made money and if you stuck to your system over the long run you would make way more sticking to it than flipping from system to system due to one random event.

That spike was when potential was unmeasured and the company was cashed up. Is that how you see the current situation?

My take on your story is that is isn't the torch that cost you, its your resolve. Don't beat yourself up for one anomaly. Your system was probably a true and would have made you plenty if you'd stuck with it though the ups and downs with SMA. Just back apply a 10% range system it was good.
