Caz - it might be a peculiar question, I agree, however there are processes you have to abide by to get into pension phase from accumulation phase. Seeing you didn't get an adequate response about the tax bill I'm wondering if in fact you still aren't in accumulation phase hence the tax on earnings in the super fund. I very rarely go to the accountant to ask questions, or get info unless I've done a bit of background research so I at least know what type of an answer to expect, obviously if the answer doesn't sound right I'd be asking more in depth questions, or walking. It may be overkill to some but the upside is I only pay around $1300 pa for tax return and includes audit. So knowing a bit certainly reduces expenses.
