Starter, you are not alone however, it is a matter of finding the real monkey in the wood pile.
Those in local government and the running scared politicians are certainly going to want to look good with voters because they are being PAID.
Do you think they are going to kill the goose that laid the golden egg
regardless of what their sentiments are? In my opinion NO .
Reading the Northern Star online just a few minutes ago, I note the
RV mayor, Ernie Bennett has had something to say and I am wondering if he may be suffering short term memory loss IMO.
This is an excerpt from what he had to say:
Metgasco and the government had ignored the council's calls for better community consultations, including it's recommendation that they set up a shop front in Casino. He also stated:From industries point of view, if you want to operate and be welcomed then you need to be proactive."
Hang on a bit, Ernie Bennett is not a Johnny Come Lately to Casino.
From memory, he has lived in the distract all his life.
My question to Ernie Bennett is: how long did Metgasco have an office out along the Lismore Road in Casino? For a number of years until they gave up in frustration and picked up their bat and ball and left.
Metgasco were actively engaged in the community via sponsorship.
Did they facilitate students from Southern Cross University to engage in some sort of work experience with them? I have a feeling zmetgasco did.
I call that being proactive in the community wouldn't you?
In relation to Anthony Robert's media release , I am left wondering who
was instrumental in orchestrating OSCG's grounds for suspension of Metgasco's exploration at the last minute.
Anthony Roberts has written to ICAC Commissioner following receipt of information concerning share holdings and interests in Metgasco. He also states that in accordance with Section 11 of the ICAC Act "I have referred this to the Commissioner to ensure that any decisions pertaining to PEL. 16 have been made entirely properly and without undue interest or influence."
In my opinion, we SHERS , as owners of Metgasco had every right to jump up and down, scream, shout or whatever when Metgasco management stated they were going to look for opportunities elsewhere.
Of course we were always going to protect our investment so the decision
pertaining to PEL 16 have IMO been made properly and without undue interest or influence. How can owners of a company by held to ransom
for wanting their company to become a financially viable entity . It is called good business acumen.
In my opinion, the state government took fright when they became aware that the ranks of the local unwashed, the drive in drive out unwashed from other states and those lost souls looking for a "cause" were going to swell into a cast of thousands ,requiring around nine hundred police to be put in place when the "big" day arrived. In addition, there were rumblings from the Police Union to contend with. All too much so a quick fix was very
quickly produced by Anthony Roberts.
For those who attended Metgasco's AGM last year, remember PH stated that there would be community consultation, interaction with RVC and
meetings with property owners. Did the wheels fall off that cart before PH
could carry out his intentions ?
Meanwhile, out at Bentley the Centrelink recipients are partying on oblivious to Smok'n Joe's just handed down Federal Budget.
Anthony Roberts could act in the best of all Australian taxpayers and send a large group of Centrelink investigators to the site. It would be run rabbitt run and leave everything behind including the rubbish.
What a disgusting state of affairs.
Can someone please find the monkey in the woodpile so we can activate Starters suggestion of a class action.
All in my opinion.
plus those looking for a "cause" so jumped on the bandwagon,
