Correct me if I'm wrong, but this deal of the century has resulted in a maximum benefit to KAR shareholders of US$63m in drilling costs NEXT YEAR in a lease that is a complete SIDESHOW to the main leases that have presently caused an enormous amount of grief and hardship.

Maybe I'm just not seeing the silver lining in the vast, dark, very threatening clouds of uncertainty that have been hanging over KAR for the past six months?? Maybe I'm being too pessimistic to ask why KAR didn't just sell this SIDESHOW lease lock stock and barrel for a figure north of US$63m so that they could bolster their tenuous position in the main leases?

I hate to say it, but if this deal is the nett result of nearly two weeks in suspension, after six solid months in purgatory, then this deal is simply akin to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titantic...
