Globally Australia is regarded as an industrial backwater, a nation characterised by inept and overpaid executives whose focus is short-term and grossly lacking in innovation and willingness to invest at home.
Executive remuneration in Australia averages 70 times average remuneration - now that's COSTLY and really a sick joke at workers' expense!
So who in Australia was it that actually did the work that has made Australia the wealthiest nation on Earth as of September 2013?
It was primarily our small business people and their staff; employers with ethics and clever enough to realise that their futures depended on the productivity and welfare of their staff. Staff just kept on working!
As for big business; our newspapers were full of their 'cost-cutting' and profit taking! They shed jobs left, right, centre and often without regard to the welfare of their workers or the impact on our economy.
For the record, workers did not go on strike and cause the GFC; they tried to keep on working! The GFC was a global WEALTH STRIKE; wherein big players set the pace and locked up capital. Even Joe Hockey's family has admitted to deciding to "SELL!" in the early stages of the GFC.
