Gogo,
How about the following for bona fides:
I agree 100% with what you say.
Which is why I so desperately don't want the Coalition to blow it.
I want them to kick arse and to restore pride in the Australia I grew up with, an Australia that had hope, vision, and most important of all, enterprise and initiative.
Six years of Labor snuffed out vast tracts of initiative, rendering an atmosphere of self-interest, narcism and a quagmire of bureaucracy, all of which led to waste, declining productivity and entrenched culture of entitlement.
The medicine we need to take is not a hard sell. For the financially literate and economically interested the problems are obvious. But it's a message that needs to be delivered to the broader population who are either not listening or who aren't that smart.
But the government (my party) has done such a woeful job of mounting the case, of providing the evidence, of producing the numbers, of softening up the citizenry, of pre-conditioning, of educating.
All they did was they got up one day and ambushed the people (don't scoff, that's what it feels like, which is why we have this massive backlash) with a big stick and said, "There, cop that. That'll teach you to vote Labor."
Abbott simply hasn't sold the vision and the dream of a prosperous tomorrow.
He never has.
And he never will.
So I'll thank you to refrain from questioning my bona fides in future.
