    Re your post which included;
    "... What needs to occur,is for the GST to be both increased and broadened,with state taxes eliminated .
    All tax concessions,which mostly favour the wealthy and foriegn miners need to be scrapped.
    Undo the omelet which is federalism,its a costly tier of government not required. ..."

    The final point is the most important!

    Australia is a loose and increasingly shambolic federation of sovereign British colonies. Our Constitution is archaic and fraudulent; forcing as it does on us a combative monarchical system of government loaded with internal inconsistencies and self-contradiction that mitigate against sound, longer term planning.

    Tony Abbott is the latest iteration of what mainstream Australians do not want and we desperately need a genuine leader committed to walking Australia through a process that will deliver more inclusive and better longer term governance.

    Malcolm Turnbull stands out as the most likely candidate amongst a sea of myopic troglodytes.

    As for the GST; it's an extreme and highly regressive tax that taxes mainstream people until the day they die while collecting little from those who consume overseas and buy things they can launder as tax deductible via their companies.

    The end of the Age of Entitlement DEMANDS the end of all those deceitful tax concessions; from publicly funded 'private schools' to discounting tax for interest charged on debt companies load themselves up with, the fuel 'rebate', asset write-downs etc.
